New Technology Assignment

Social media’s popularity continues to rise. As time goes on, new technologies are being and have been developed that will help social media advance and continue to thrive. These new technologies are methods, systems, and devices which are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes. This new technology that has been and will be developed will change social media as we know it… Why? Because it already is.
One new form of technology that I found is something that I believe will change Instagram and blogs alike. This new technology is something called the Starscope Monocular. This technology is a clip-on piece of binoculars that go onto any smart phone and seriously enhances the photo quality of any picture taken. It attaches easily with an adjustable piece that can fit to any phone regardless of its size. The Starscope Monocular is also able to adjust to any phone camera by putting the scope wherever the phone camera is. The Starscope Monocular doesn’t only work as a zoom enhancer for every day pictures, but can also be used to view the stars at night and take incredible pictures as well. This can be done by using the monocular to focus on images easier, and have a clearer finish. Another problem with taking pictures of stars is the issue of shaking, because you usually have to hold still in order to get a clear picture. But, with the Starscope Monocular it also comes with a stabilizing tripod that also adjusts to any phone to ensure that any photo taken is one that is clear and of great quality. This new technology creates a zoom that is 10x that of a normal camera zoom on anyone’s smart phone. Because of this increased zoom it creates a picture that is not blurry no matter how zoomed in the photo may be.
So, why will this new technology change and enhance social media? I believe that this form technology will change the way that Instagram users especially influencers and bloggers will take pictures. This new technology claims the ability to compete and even exceed the quality of photos taken by high brands like: Nikon, Canon, and Sony. The photos are clear and are of high quality, which is exactly what Instagram influencers and bloggers want in their pictures. They will also be able to take these pictures and it will be so much more affordable than any of the other pictures. This helps the up and comings of the Instagram world have higher quality pictures for a lower price. This new technology will change Instagram and blogs one clear photo at a time.

Reflection on Social Media Case:1: McDStories

             The McDonalds hashtag incident was one of the more entertaining cases that I have read. I found it really interesting how a hashtag that was initially created to form happy and positive memories, was distorted into the case that it became. People used this hashtag and created a hashtag hijack. This hijacking was able to occur because of the company not realizing their bias and expertise in that field. They (the McDonalds Corporation) thought that by creating this hashtag that it would stem positive feelings about their company but it ended up having the opposite effect.             This hashtag hijacking that occurred came off very negatively for McDonalds and they ended up shutting the hashtag down after only two hours . I was assigned to research Nathan Frandsen for this online reputation assignment. The information that was found was strictly through the posts that he and his friends made about him in several social media outlets. Nathan was born on May 22, 1995. Nathan’s Facebook informed me that he attended Mountain Crest HighSchool within Cache Valley . I would argue however that he might not have been born and raised within this valley. I make that prediction because of his love for the LA Clippers, and his constant travels to California. Because of this, I would make the guess that he was probably born, or has some kind of affiliation with the state of California which would give explanation to his love for this team and for his many vacations/visits to the state.
